Gwinnett County Georgia Cobb County Fulton County Legal Lawyer- Divorce and Family Law Certified Amicable Divorce Professional
About
Traci is an AV-rated family law attorney with over 20 years of civil litigation experience. Her practice is dedicated to family law, including divorce, annulment, child custody, alimony/spousal support, property division, paternity, legitimation, adoption, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement of court orders, and modification actions. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree from the Emory University School of Law, after having earned her Bachelor of Arts decree in political science and history from Binghamton University (S.U.N.Y.).
Traci also serves as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), which is an officer of the court appointed (either by the judge, or by agreement of the parties) to represent the best interests of minor children. As a GAL, she is called upon to investigate the best interests of children, and to make recommendations to help parents and/or the Courts to be able to resolve delicate child custody matters while protecting the well being and best interests of the children.
While a passionate advocate for what is right and just for her clients and their families, Traci recognizes the value and importance of negotiation and creative problem-solving. She has extensive experience in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, and believes that when parties are able to resolve these matters by agreement, the outcomes are much easier to live under than when they have heated, adversarial litigation that is decided by a judge - particularly for parties who will need to find a way to co-parent for years after their case is over.
Traci is currently the President of the Women of the Bar Section of the Cobb County Bar Association (CCBA), and before taking on this role, she served as the President of the Family Law Section of the CCBA, as well as a member of the CCBA Guardian ad Litem section. She is also a member of the Atlanta Bar Association (and has served on the Legislative Committee and the Diversity/Inclusion Committee), the Gwinnett County Bar Association, and the DeKalb County Bar Association, as well as the Gwinnett County chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL). In addition, Traci is a Master with the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.
Caring about giving back to the community, Traci volunteers her time as a Guardian ad Litem for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), in addition to volunteering to help unrepresented (pro se) parties with preparing and presenting their cases before certain Cobb County judges.
Highly regarded by her peers, Traci has been honored to be named twice as a top 3 attorney winner in the Atlanta Jewish Times Magazine "Best of Jewish Atlanta: Reader's Choice Awards" for 2020 and 2021, as well as to the SuperLawyers List each year since 2019, after having been named as a SuperLawyers Rising Star 6 times. She has received an "AV Preeminent Attorney" Judicial rating through Martindale Hubbell each year since 2012, and has also been named as a "Top Rated Lawyer in Family Law," a Legal Leaders "Top Rated Lawyer in Georgia for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability," one of Georgia's Outstanding Young Lawyers," a "Woman Leader in the Law," has been named multiple times as a “Top 40 Family Lawyer Under 40 in the State of Georgia” by the American Society of Legal Advocates, and has received multiple "Client Champion Awards" and "Client Distinction Awards." In addition, received a “Distinguished Lawyer Designation” by the Expert Network, and has maintained a “10.0 Superb Rating” by Avvo since 2012. Traci has also proudly contributed (2012-2018) to annual updates and revisions to Georgia Domestic Relations – Forms and Practice, a book highly regarded by lawyers throughout the state which includes guides to the practice of family law in Georgia and related forms.
Together with her husband, Traci is a proud mother to a young son, daughter, and stepson. She is happy to be a part of ADN, and to be able to help parties work toward amicable resolutions of their family law matters.
